Newly Minted: Helen Owens in Salon Today and Diablo Magazine

I always welcome the opportunity to connect with anyone looking for help with their hair loss battle. In April 2025, Salon Today reported on one of my key hair loss solutions, and this month (May 2025), Diablo Magazine included me in a special section highlighting some of the East Bay’s influential business women leaders. Along these lines, two of my proudest moments were being inducted into the Happiness Hall of Fame and receiving the Shining Star award for public service.
Helen’s Noteworthy Non-Profits: TriValley Haven
Helen Owens at the 2025 TriValley Haven “Wings of Hope” Gala
Last quarter I had the honor of supporting GENYOUth, a non-profit focused on ending student hunger by helping provide school breakfasts to children in need. As a woman who has battled a life-long hair loss condition, I know what it feels like to be ostracized and othered for my experience. I use that experience everyday to inspire and uplift others facing their own challenges.
This quarter I was honored to be a guest at the Tri-Valley Haven “Wings of Hope Gala” to support “adults and children who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, or homelessness in the Tri-Valley area.” Recently selected as a district Nonprofit of the Year, Tri-Valley Haven supports the Livermore community and beyond by creating “a more peaceful society one person, one family, one community at a time.” You can show your support by donating time, money, and items for their thrift store.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month: Let’s Turn Awareness Into Action

Being in the hair restoration industry means I have the honor of witnessing daily the healing journey for so many. Our “pilgrimages to self-discovery” include caring for our bodies, minds, hearts, and souls.
This year’s theme for Mental Health Awareness Month is “Turn Awareness Into Action.” As an advocate for hair loss awareness and the physical and mental challenges that accompany it, I work everyday to do just that. I’ve also been connected with the medical community for decades to provide my clients with as many healing resources as possible. Visit my website resource page for more information.
More Good News!
My daughter Dondrea has received her second-level Rezo stylist certification, making her one of the few stylists in the Bay Area to reach this level of certification.
Many of you know Dondrea as my right hand stylist. She’s worked with me for years and is continuing to build her own brand as a curly and textured-hair expert. Her continued education projects in one of the leading curly-hair brands is ongoing.
Founded in 2018, Rezo “was conceived with the goal of empowering the curl community, celebrating textured hair and promoting healthy hair habits, all through expert curl education and product knowledge.”
I have some projects in the works (as always!) that I can’t wait to share with you! For updates, follow me at the social media links to the left and stay tuned for my next newsletter in the coming months (Q3 2025).
You can reach me anytime via phone or text at 510-368-3519 or my staff at 510-910-4850. I look forward to connecting with you again soon!
